i'm back.
so after a several month hiatus, i’m back. i think i’m just not a blog person. anyway, a few weeks ago i started getting random phone calls from a blocked number - one time it was rick astley, one time it was light saber noises, and once it was arnold schwarzenegger sound bytes. after the last one, a student admitted it was him (gloated, really).

I wore my glasses for the first time today in front of my students. One girl goes to me, “Miss, you actually look like a teacher today. Normally you just look like a student but just dressed up nice.” Granted, a student in a later class then told me that my face looked weird, but I’ll still take what I can get.
Maybe if I wear glasses every day they’ll start listening?
my day so far:
high: top marks on my bulletin board design.
low: one of my students ate my lunch without my noticing. seriously. the whole lunch in class.
and this is my career.

kids say weird things to me.
Today, one of my students gave me a new nickname - Goofy Loofty. Cute. This was the same kid who lifted his shirt and asked if I liked his six pack after flexing his arm to see if I would “feel his bicep” last week. I try to steer away from this kid for obvious reasons. He also told me today that he didn’t care about science… he just wants to be a lady’s man. ...
